By Pastor Mike Novotny
A one-stop resource for Biblical truths on the toughest questions and most challenging situations including anxiety, depression, sexual intimacy, marriage, and more.
Hot-button issues dominating our culture can make speaking out feel taboo. Hiding from hard conversations won’t work. We need to know what God actually says about these issues, and by looking to Scripture, we can find the answers.
In Taboo, author Mike Novotny covers deeply personal, vulnerable, and emotional topics, handling them with grace and respect. It’s the ultimate resource for Christians looking to create change and deal with struggles in their own lives.
God’s Word gives us clarity, healing, and hope. Taboo is a must-read for Christians looking for a biblically based resource to modern questions.
Not talking is not helping! It’s time for believers to step gracefully into the Taboo and share God’s truth with a world in need.
I recommended this book in our church library when we first bought it and it quickly became the most popular book in our library. In addition, we will be starting a new book club early in 2026 so those who read it (and those who are interested in reading it) can discuss it chapter by chapter together. Thanks for a thought-provoking book!
Thank you for your thoughtful and encouraging review! We’re grateful to hear the book has been so well received in your church library and that it will be used in a book club for deeper discussion. Thank you for reading, recommending, and sharing it with others.
Once again, Mike Novotny has addressed very common issues with clarity and compassion. This is an excellent resource for all Christians and especially counselors and ministers.
Thank you for the review, Michael!
The book cover tough topics. It's easy to read and well researched. We are really enjoying the discussion we are having in Bible study.
Thank you, Nathan!
Taboo gives voice to the sins that are 'hidden' and not talked about but that need to be. The topics covered are done so within a biblical perspective with very good and appropriate bible passage references and with practical applications for real life. The Taboo topics have allowed for and have promote thoughtful and productive discussion in the Growth Group I facilitate. In gratitude and appreciation - Thank you.
Thank you for your review, Tom!
This book is for all ages, but especially helpful for teens and young adults. There is so much societal pressure on young men and women to 'conform' to the trends of today. Taboo tackles the tough topics of our modern culture. I highly recommend it for graduations. This is a time when our young are trying to find their societal identity and are especially vulnerable to worldly influences.
