When the Devil Attacks: Winning in the War Zones

This book was a comfort to me. I was raised in a church and school that was based on works for salvation. I started to ask questions and didn’t get the answers I was seeking from the supposed holy people. I always knew there was God but didn’t understand how to be good enough to get to heaven. I then became angry and my life was to live for myself and do what I wanted because I knew I was going to hell anyway. My wife was a strong Christian woman and was very patient with me. She would take our children to the Elkhorn Wi. WELS church every week and I stayed home and drank my beer. I did attend a service once and Pastor Kosanke approached me and stated that I was an angry guy. I then told him that I had questions and nobody had answers on how to go to heaven. He then challenged me to go home and write down all the questions to could think of and give him 6 weeks to find the answers together. Well that turned out to be about a year almost every week. I kept asking, what work do I have to do to be saved and we kept going back to Gods Holy Word. The best verse that I found comfort in was Eph 2:8-9. That was almost 43 years ago when God brought me to faith through His Word and the Holy Spirit. I still often struggle with the guilt of my past sins against the people I love and Satan is right there accusing me. My comfort is knowing I have been forgiven and it is a free gift. This book has also been a comfort to me. Thank you Lord Jesus!!!

I used this book in my morning devotions. I found it an interesting read and hope to reread it in the future. There was so much information that it was almost too much for my 85-year old brain to digest. The Lord has blessed Dr. Becker with great insight into things I had never known or considered before. I learned a great deal from it. It was challenging but I appreciated the fact that he always reminded the reader to remember the armor the Lord has provided for His children.

Clear Biblical teaching about the origin of, existence of, and defeat of the devil/Satan. Appreciated the research, the Greek and Hebrew explanations, the unpacking of Bible verses, and the reminder that Jesus has defeated Satan and provided the armor of God for us to resist temptation and stand faithful.
Great resource for personal or group Bible study.

It was awesome. I learned a lot, including some things I didn't know and others I had never considered. I appreciate his tremendous insight into Bible passages and the deeper meanings he uncovers. Great scholarship.

His readers will benefit and grow in their knowledge of Satan and the spiritual warfare we all face. He offers comfort and encouragement through Jesus Christ. He makes this all come alive with practical advice and applications. The Digging Deeper questions were well done and thought-provoking
